Licence
Volito is two things with two licences, plus the fonts under their own.
The engine: MIT
Everything outside packs/ and fonts/ (the runtime, the sandbox, the renderer, the CLI, the Node API, the browser player, the MCP server, the motion, 3D and map kits) is under the MIT License. Use it in anything.
The packs: the MONARC Packs License
The ready-made graphics in packs/ are under the MONARC Packs License 1.0. In short:
- Make things with them. Use, modify and render the packs to make videos, images and other media, personal or commercial, for yourself or for clients, including advertising, broadcast and streaming.
- Share what you make. Publish, sell and distribute your productions anywhere, with no royalty and no attribution required. A credit is welcome, never required.
- Build on them. Use the packs inside your own software or service to make productions for your users, as long as your users receive the rendered media, not the packs themselves.
- Don't resell them as templates. The packs, or modified versions of them, may not be sold, licensed or distributed as templates, presets, project files, a template library or a marketplace listing, or as any product whose main value is the packs themselves.
- Keep the notices with any copy of the packs you ship inside your own software.
The licence gives no right to the MONARC, MONARC STUDIOS, MONARC PRO or Volito names or logos, except to say truthfully that you used Volito. The packs are provided as is, without warranty.
The fonts
Each bundled family is under its own SIL Open Font License 1.1, in fonts/licenses/. You may use them in your renders and ship them with your software under those terms.
Packs you write
A pack you write from scratch is yours, under any licence you choose; name it in your pack.json. Items you adapt from the MONARC packs stay under the MONARC Packs License: use them in your videos and inside your software, but don't resell them as templates.
